RP Funding Center chooses MABE as the Install Integrator and system designer for their arena make over. RP Funding Center formerly known as the The Lakeland Center decided it was time to upgrade the arena after being named the new home of the Lakeland Magic, the D-League affiliate to the Orlando Magic. As a part of the renovations it was decided that the sound system definitely needed to be replaced. The current system was an off-set center cluster with point source delay boxes positioned around the bowl of the arena. The new system needed to be able to produce high DB levels while maintaining quality; so to not be jarring to the audience. Since the arena hosts basketball, hockey, and indoor socker, as well as graduations and concerts, the system needed to be flexible in its configuration and design in order to accommodate these very different events and styles. It was crucial that the speaker system met the requirements of a concert venue while simultaneoulsy boasting enough horsepower to rock the stands durring a sporting event. MABE turned to Meyer Sound and their new line array box “Lina”. Lina is the newest compact line array in the Meyer line up. The design combined 84 Lina boxes in 12-array configuration with 12 UPQ-1P boxes to cover the floor and six Meyer 1100 LFC’s for the bottom end. Along with the speaker system MABE will be installing all new audio and video infrustructure and wiring along with video routing systems and new Yamaha QL series consoles for both the sound booth and a mobile console for when they need to setup on the main floor for events. The install is scheduled to be completed by end of October so that it is ready for the opening game of the Lakeland Magic.
